The Bulgarian white brined cheese is a unique combination of long traditions, healthy components and distinguished taste qualities.

ALBENA® is produced by the national quality leaders using only organic milk. The maturing of the product usually requires 45-60 days. 5-7 liters of milk are needed for the production of one kilogram of cheese.

The product is 100% natural and does not contain any preservatives or genetically modified organisms. The content of salt in the cheese helps preserve its quality during the product life.

The white brined cheese produced in Bulgaria contains the unique bacteria (called) Lactobacillus Bulgaricus. The bacteria are known for their probiotic qualities that are essential for the human health. Their biological resistance and long life in the intestines assist the recovery of the micro-floral balance in the human organism. In addition, they help regulate the function of the whole digestive system. Lactobacillus Bulgaricus prevents the development of “bad” microorganisms and reduce the spread of toxic products, therefore having a significant antitoxic effect. Once opened, the cheese should be kept in salty brine in the fridge (2-3 table spoons of salt dissolved in 1 liter of cold water). It should be consumed for a period of two-three weeks after opening. The saltiness of the cheese could be reduced if it is put it in cold water and stored in the fridge for several hours before consumption.
